Over the last quarter of 2015 and the first quarter of 2016 we have experienced a serious increase in general activity in the Scottish Borders.
The number of viewings booked though McEwan Fraser Legal has increased 40%, as has the level of interest from clients looking to part exchange, there are more part exchange transactions than ever before within the total volume of transactions completed. We would say that the increased demand for the Scottish Borders is largely just down to the increase in activity across the market, but it has been further enhanced by the development of the new Borders Railway Network.
This new railway, which opened in September 2015, has opened up the Borders towns as accessible commuter towns to the traditional Edinburgh buyer.
