Edinburgh has rocketed 97 places from 2013 to hit the number one spot this year in an index from uSwitch.com which assessed 138 UK cities and regions for 26 different lifestyle factors including hours of sunshine, disposable income, working hours, life expectancy, food and energy bills and more. Edinburgh is a vibrant city with spectacular architecture and great museums. It holds the world famous festival and is home to Hogmanay, all surrounded by stunning scenery. No wonder Edinburgh tops the list of the best place to live. USwitch.com commented "Not only does Edinburgh have the lowest reported crime rate in the entire UK, it boasts cheap energy bills, an average salary of £29,558, a disposable income average of £20,083 and super-fast broadband speeds of 23Mbs." But before you decide on a move to Edinburgh researchers also said it was a "victory for Scotland” overall as 13 of the 20 regions that saw the biggest gains in the Quality of Life rankings since 2013 are north of the border, meaning more than half of Scottish regions have improved their Quality of Life ranking in the last 2 years. At McEwan Fraser Legal we sell property in Edinburgh but also across the whole of Scotland, so if you are looking for a move to a region offering a great quality of life then you have come to the right place!
